Welcome to the Real World

 

Telling stories is as old as humanity. 

 

From the earliest cave paintings to multiplex cinemas we have used technology to record and transmit our stories to an ever-wider audience. At Real2 our aim is to create a new storytelling experience that combines the depth of a great TV box set with the immediacy and bite-sized interaction of social media to create moments of escape throughout the day.

 

In Real2, characters break the “fourth wall” and interact directly with you by exchanging text and voice messages. They will keep you up to date with what is going on in their world and you will have the chance to respond, influencing their decisions and ultimately the fate of all the characters involved.

 

Play for as long as you like - from a few seconds when you have a moment during the day to binging several stories simultaneously when you have time to relax. And when the story ends, play again to spend more time with different characters and see how different decisions lead to a different outcome.

I often get asked if Real2 is a game, and in truth I’m not sure. Real2 does not demand your undivided attention like a game, and there are no scenarios where you will either win or lose. Surely that’s the defining feature of a game? On the other hand, you are more than a passive listener, having the opportunity to participate and influence the outcome of the story. Does that make it a game? Real2 is like an audiobook or an eBook - but interactive.

Real2 stories are being developed in several genres including drama, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, thriller and romance. We expect to release a new production every few months and it is our aim to support emerging talent in all areas of production including writing, acting and production. For now, I’m sorry that Real2 is only available on the iPhone. Check back often (or subscribe to our mailing list) as we hope to support Android soon.
